Standard Assessment Procedure - What You Need To Know

SAP stands for ‘Standard Assessment Procedure’. SAP calculations are designed to measure the energy performance of all new build dwellings, conversions, and some extensions.

You need these calculations to make sure that your building complies with Part L of the building regulations.

It is recommended that you get your SAP calculations completed as early in your project as possible, so if your building should fail, our team can advise you on how to meet compliance.

In England, dwellings are measured on two main compliance metrics: dwelling fabric energy efficiency (DFEE) and dwelling emission rate (DER).

UKBC offers both L1A and L1B SAP calculations in England for new builds and extensions/conversions respectively.
