Changes to Part L

Significant changes to Part L1A of the Building Regulations are set to come into effect from June 2022.

Find out more about what this entails here.

What will this look like?

Due to a 31% reduction in TER requirements, current specifications will no longer be adequate to achieve Part L Compliance.

The above changes mean that a combination of the following will need to be considered:

  • Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Solar PV
  • Waste Water Heat Recovery Systems
  • Wider wall cavities

Gas boilers are still an option – however, will need to be offset with both Solar PV and WWHR

What does this mean for me?

The proposed changes will have a major impact on things such as;

  • Project Cost
  • Staff Skillset
  • Architects Drawings
  • Contractors
